Quickly understand the big picture from senior crew and be proactive within my remit
Over the last 10 years I have acquired a relevant and useful skill-set that will be an asset to any yacht
As well as good work, you can be certain I’ll act well under the high pressure environment that sometimes occurs at sea

Overview
Taking the vessel from launch in Istanbul, Turkey in relatively rough shape, to a completed project 2 years later in good working order ready for the incoming engineer.
Winter 23/24’
Set up the boat SOPs, EOPs, built my own planned maintenance software in Airtable, created inventories and completed handover from the yard at launch in Istanbul, Turkey.
Summer 24’
Charter and private use East and Western Med. Delivery to Amsterdam.
Winter 24/25’
Engineering refit at Amsterdam Yacht Service - I managed logistics and specification of the refit whilst the captain managed the budget remotely. Time split 50/50 between being on tools and management. Extensive list of projects completed are in the 'Past Projects' section.
Summer 25’
Chartering in Norway and delivery back to the Western Med for some owner trips. Re-write SOPs, EOPs, detailed planned maintenance handover docs and system configuration documentations.

Winter 22/23’
Assisting the rotational engineers in stripping the engine room to make way for fitting of a new main engine. Assisted with preparing 10 year survey items. Lots of plumbing tasks and fault finding during the re launch in the spring.
Summer 23’
Covered one of the rotational engineers whilst he took some extended leave - cruising Western Mediterranean. 15 days big boat sailing with guests onboard or deliveries. Keeping up with planned maintenance using IDEA.

Yes, I am working through the SV EOOW experienced seafarer route, have passed my Auxiliary 1 module and hope to have enough sea time within the next year to apply for my NOE. I need a chief to sign off my TRB and must be on vessels over 350kw.
I was a keen sailor and from 18 years old, I worked as a flotilla skipper, volunteered with Ocean Youth Trust and eventually found yachting and worked on deck for several years.
I took to carpentry and maintenance during numerous yard periods and returned to the UK circa 2016 to pursue this. I built a small furniture making company and a thriving cowork space but lockdown had different plans for us, we closed the workshop and the office after 3 years of operation.
During this time however, I had built a narrowboat and sailed it around the UK on an overdue holiday. The engineering side of the build caused me to reconsider yachting - this time in the engineering department. I've now been a sole engineer for 3 years.
engine. was a co working space I started with a friend that became quite successful. It was a dual workshop & office space we rented out. I also ran my furniture making business from this location.
